Brigitte Bardot, 1969
Anonymous asked: I was wondering if you have any knowledge of what haircut Brigitte Bardot had in the early '60s. As in, if someone was to go to their hairdresser, what they would ask for. I've been searching, and haven't found anything! Thanks xoxo
Hi, great question!
I’d definitely ask for layers. Though I don’t know what is the haircut you’re talking about (BB changed hairstyles pretty often during the 60’s), I think you mean the time when she wore long, curly blonde hair, like this:
As you can see in this photo, she’s got layers, and it makes mainly two lengths: one at bra-strap length and a shorter one near her jaw line. Plus, she wears slightly long bangs, which she side/center parts most of the time, and styles them wavy to the sides.I’ve got no information about her hairdresser, but I think I read somewhere that she cut the hair herself. Not sure about it, though. Apparently her hairdresser was Jacques Dessange, an anonymous reader says.
I’d advice you to bring a photo of BB when you go to see your hairdresser, they will surely know what to do to get that result. Pick a photo which shows her hair like the one above, or keep browsing this site to find a better pic, or one that is more suitable for your hair.
Hope it helps ;)
Devoted to Brigitte Bardot -- one of the most beautiful women ever, an everlasting icon style and the genuine French actress who revoluted the concept of 'female'. I do not own ANY of this material, unless otherwise stated.
